Thoughts

Bill and Patsy have been my good friends and, in a way, my spiritual parents, for nearly 20 years. They were both fervent prayer warriors and continually prayed for myself and my daughter. I came to know Bill and Patsy through Albert and Doris Ursell's bible study group in Walton, along with Tony Unsworth, John Bright and Iris Barndon. We loved to study, pray and sing as a small group. Following Albert's death, Bill and Patsy hosted the meetings at Waterways (Patsy used to love to call it Little Church). Each New Year we had an Epiphany party in order to continue the the celebration of Christ's coming, with middle eastern treats to eat , a rendition of T.S.Eliot's The Journey of the Magi and We three King's of Orient are( any chance for a sing-a-long). I shall desperately miss my long telephone conversations with Patsy and my visits to Bill and Patsy's home for coffee, chats and cake. I am glad they are together and no doubt they are living it up in heaven with many old friends. Much love and God bless to both of you and your family who miss you here.

I met Bill & Patsy 20 years ago when I started to attend allsaints church, Me and my late freind Maureen use to go around bill and patsys every week either for Bible study or just for Tea and biscuits, over the years I have had hundreds of phone conversations with patsy that were always a joy and could go on for 2 plus hours, pasty would often ring me as I would also ring her for advice and patsy was always at the end of the phone line willing to give surpport, guidence and assurance. Bill was an amazing gentleman who with patsy was also my freind, even thoe the last few years we didn't ring as much as we use to due to me getting married and starting a family and me not attending church anymore, when we lost our freind Maureen on new years day 2023 we reconnected a lot more and I had some last amazing phone calls with dear patsy, I loved these two people very much and don't mind admitting have been very tearfull since they both passed, they were devoted to each other and I knew bill would not be long on his own without his beloved patsy and I wasn't surprised less that 4 weeks after patsy passed away bill joined her in paradise, sleep tight you two, you changed and made my life so much better for you being in it, love you both❤️🙏xxx

My husband Lukey became a Christian down in Walton-on-the-Naze while visiting with family. Through the person who shared the gospel with him he met Patsy and Bill. When Lukey got to know me, I met them too, and Bill was Lukey's best man when we married in 1990. Sadly, Lukey died very suddenly nearly 3 years ago. It is painfully sad to me that due to Patsy caring for Bill with his bad back, and due to Covid, I have not seen them for 9 years. But I have kept in touch. However, I can look back on what seems like a lifetime of friendship. Each year when we came from NW London to the Essex coast for a long weekend or more, our family were given hospitality in Bill and Patsy's home more than once. I remember being given cups of tea and homemade scones, or we Fitzpatricks would bring in Pie and mash. The warmth and Christian fellowship we enjoyed together remains a treasured memory, and I will miss their daily prayers for us, which I valued greatly. To see their picture on this tribute page gives me a real pang of loss.
